Most of the guns in this game use fake names, so I'll tell you the real names of them.
Attachment information[]
- Red dot: Unlike the console versions, this attachment is useless in this game IMO. Why? Because they're stupid enough to make it NOT increase the magnification level in the PC version. In all consoles, they all make the gun that has this thing attached have 3x zoom. Avoid unless if you want some challenge. Iron sights are enough.
- Scope: This gives you 4x zoom. Really hard to use in tight areas, but useful for wide open areas.
- High capacity magazine: On primary weapons, this will increase the rounds per mag of the gun to 100, and make you carry 500 rounds. No more, no less. For assault rifles, this is more beneficial since you can only carry 470-480 rounds with the normal mag, and this adds 20-30 extra rounds. However, this is inverted in most SMGs except SP M4 since you'll carry 520-522 arounds with the normal mag. The SP M4 carries 500 rounds so this won't affect the carried ammo count of it. On pistols, this will double the amount of rounds per mag. No change in ammo carried since all of them have infinite carried ammo.
- Suppressor: The only purpose of this is to increase accuracy and decrease recoil and damage. Mostly only useful for those that have low accuracy and/or high recoil, unless if you want your gun to have that pew-pew noise. The enemies will still detect your presence if you shoot a gun with suppressor attached in this game.
Definition[]
Assault rifles, SMGs, machine guns, sniper rifles, pistols, and machine pistols[]
- Real name: the actual name of the gun in real-life
- Claimed damage/accuracy/maneuverability/recoil: How high the stats are as claimed in the weapon selection screen (low/medium/high). Since the game sometimes lies, this can't be used as an accurate measurement.
- Actual damage: The actual damage of the guns as defined by the game's data. Higher is better.
- Actual accuracy: The actual accuracy as defined by the game's data (min/max values of the reticle offset). Lower is better.
- Minimum offset: How close to the center the reticle is when the player's crouching and not moving.
- Maximum offset: How close to the center it is when he/she's standing and moving.
- Actual recoil: The actual recoil as defined by the game's data (attack/value/decay).
- Attack: How fast the recoil increases in milliseconds. Higher is better.
- Value: How high the recoil is. Lower is better.
- Decay: How fast the recoil fades away in milliseconds. Lower is better.
- Max range: The maximum range of the gun's bullets as defined by the game's data. Higher is better.
- Rate of fire: How fast it shoots in rpm (rounds per minute).
- Supported attachments: The attachments you can put in it.
- Ammo capacity: The amount of rounds per magazine and the amount of ammo carried.
- Ammo capacity w/high capacity magazine: The amount of rounds per magazine and the amount of ammo carried when the high capacity mag is equipped.
- Firing modes: Self-explanatory.
In addition the the claimed stats, the actual basic stats (low/med/high) is shown alongside it if the game lies about it. Note that maneuverability doesn't seem to affect anything as far as I'm aware. It's probably just a filler data.

Personal opinion[]
This gun is the most uncontrollable one, since it has an insane 1200 rpm rate of fire that will quickly burn your ammo. It's indeed the gun with the fastest rate of fire in this game, even beating the CM11/9. However, single shot is nearly impossible with this gun, since it has a ridiculous rate of fire and only supports 3-round burst and full auto. Even by lightly tapping the mouse it still shoots 2-3 rounds most of the time. Sure, its damage is decent, but the rate of fire and the lack of single shot mode is just unacceptable. Its iron sights are terrible as well, as it covers around half of the screen, so using a scope is a must. However, an AI can just manage the shots just fine, due to perfect play AI. Only give this to an AI character in single player, and NEVER use it for yourself.

Personal opinion[]
This is pretty much the best gun in the game. Since it's suppressed by default, its accuracy is terrific and the damage is very decent. The rate of fire is nice too at 900 rpm. Pairing this with the high capacity mag will allow you to spray bullets all over the place. The only drawback of this gun is its limited 20 rounds per mag capacity without the hi-cap mag, but it's pretty much offset by its damage and accuracy anway.

Another best gun in the game. While it has 1000 rpm rate of fire, it's still controllable, and it even has single shot mode available unlike AN-94. Great for clearing rooms quickly, and ideal for long-range targets when equipped with a scope since it has a high accuracy.

The second worst assault rifle. Its stats, especially its recoil stats are below average. It could've been slightly negated if the damage was powerful enough, but no. It's just like most other medium-damage assault rifles, only with higher recoil. I added .5 point on it since at least it does support the high capacity mag attachment, unlike the similar-performing MTAR-21.

Personal opinion[]
This SMG is perfect for those who prefer a balance between accuracy and damage. Its 8-10 damage is better than the suppressed MP5/10, which only has 7-9 damage. Also, you can pick sights and high-capacity mag while maintaining the gun's integrated suppressor. Its 800 rpm rate of fire also provides a decent balance between firing speed speed and ammo consumption.

The SLOWEST SMG in this game. With its 500 rpm its even slower than the M60E4. It is indeed an ammo-efficient gun, but its low rate of fire is a big problem since its damage is weak just like most other SMGs, so this is quickly put to shame against multiple targets.

Personal opinion: While it does have 200 rounds per mag, its accuracy and reload time is terrible. Let alone the fact that you CAN'T put any attachments on it. I mean come on. Even this gun has a scope in Rainbow Six 3. It DOES have Picatinny rail on top of the gun, which means that you SHOULD'VE been able to put a scope on it. I wonder why the devs decided to disallow it in this game.

Personal opinion: This has the highest damage and accuracy out of all LMGs. It's also an ammo-efficient gun due to its 550 rpm rate of fire. Too bad you can't put attachments on it and its reload is too long so I had to take away a point.

- Actual recoil: 0/30/500
- Max range: indeterminable
- Rate of fire: 240 rpm
- Supported attachments: none
- Ammo capacity: 1/29
- Firing modes: single shot
Personal opinion: This is pretty much the most useless gun in the game. Why? Because: 1. It's a primary weapon instead of secondary, unlike the one in Rainbow Six 3; 2. It only has a total of 30 grenades; 3. It forces you to use a secondary weapon, as it's very lethal and has a very limited ammo; 4. It has a horribly high recoil. I could've rated this weapon 4 stars if this was a secondary weapon, but making it a primary one is a big no-no.

This is the best low-power pistol in the game, since all low-power pistols have the exact same stats but the ammo capacity. I suggest you should put the high-capacity mag in this, since it literally raises the ammo count to 40, which is more than enough to keep you from reloading. You can also attach a suppressor if you prefer accuracy over damage, but I won't suggest leaving the attachments empty. Unfortunately, pistols are only used if people run out of ammo in this game so I had to take away half points from it.

Personal opinion[]
This seems to be the range-oriented version of the DE 357. While it deals a lower damage, it also has less recoil, so this is better for mid-range shooting. But remember to always put the hi-cap mag attachment at all times if you wanna use this, since its 7 rounds per mag will surely make you reload more frequently.

With suppressor[]
- Actual damage: 6/8
- Actual accuracy: 3/50
- Actual recoil: 100/10/150
Personal opinion[]
This is the second worst low-power pistol in the game, as it only has 13 rounds.
Personal rating: 1.5
Grenades[]
Grenades are always thrown at a speed of 20 km/h and detonates after 2 seconds.
Flashbang[]
- Amount carried: 5
- Stuns people only: yes
- Stun radius: 5m
- Max flash radius: 8m
Personal opinion[]
Only use this for hostage mission stuff. Anything beyond that makes this grenade pretty much pointless.
Rating: 2
Frag[]
- Amount carried: 3
- Kill radius: 2m
- Max blast radius: 7m
- Blast force: 200
- Base damage: 7/15
Personal opinion[]
The weaker variant of the phosphorus grenade. I don't really like it since the phosphorus is much more effective than this.
Rating: 2
Phosphorus[]
- Amount carried: 3
- Kill radius: 7m
Note: Phosphorus grenades kill anyone withing the max radius (7m). The actual kill radius is 4m, but since anyone within the blast radius gets killed instantly, I assume its kill radius is 7m. Also, it does have a blast force and base damage, but those aren't included since it instantly kills anyone within 7m radius.
Personal opinion[]
Instantly kills anyone within radius and sets them on fire. Brutal.
Rating: 4
Smoke[]
- Amount carried: 5
Personal opinion[]
Not really useful since there are few enemies in each area, and they're easily killable, so this is pretty much pointless.
Rating: 2
Virus[]
- Available only on multiplayer.
- Amount carried: 3
- Kill radius: 3m
- Effect radius: 5m
- Warning radius: 9m
- Dissipation time: 4 seconds
- Spread time: 3 seconds
Personal opinion[]
WIth only 3m kill radius, it's the weakest lethal grenade in this game. Its 4 seconds effect duration doesn't help either.

Note that this won't blind people, but only stuns them.
Unused weapons[]
These weapons are unused but still present in the game's files. Most of them are leftovers from the earlier-released PS2 and Xbox versions and some of them appear to be beta weapons.
- "Eagle", an unfinished gun which looks like a pistol with folded stock. Found as first person model without textures, named eagle. Upon inspection, it appears that it uses 1p_p_deserteagle.rsb for the textures.
- SR-4 CQB from the PS2 version that has an undrerbarrel shotgun attachment. Found as first person model without textures, named m4, and as third person model with textures.
- M870S shotgun attachment of the SR-4 CQB from the PS2 version. Found as first person model without textures, named m870.
- OICW from the Xbox version. Found as third-person model with textures.
- Old first person PP-M1 model from the PS2 version without textures, named pp90.
- Old first person M36c model from the PS2 version without textures, named g36.
- Old first person MG 7 model from the PS2 version without textures, named mag7.
- Old first person MEU(SOC)45 model from the PS2 version without textures, named meu.
- Old first person MTAR-21 model from the PS2 version without textures, named mtar.
- Old first person 90TR model from the PS2 version without textures, named p90.
- Old first person SPS 15 model from the PS2 version without textures, named spas.
- Old first person M1S 90 model from the PS2 version without textures, named sup90.
- Old first person UM9 model from the PS2 version without textures, named ump9.
- Old first person AS 12 model from the PS2 version without textures, named usas.
- Old first person W2000 model from the PS2 version without textures, named wa2000.
- Old first person suppressed M9 model from PS2 version with textures and low details, named 92fs.
- An unknown first person model file, named fpw_pistol.chr. It's impossible to identify what pistol it is since attempting to create a new gun using the pistol model file just crashes the game. It doesn't have the fpw_pistol_a.chr file. However, adding any fpw_pistol_a.chr file still crashes the game. Upon inspection, it appears that it uses some textures from 1p_p_deserteagle.rsb, which doesn't exist. It crashes even after making a duplicate of the DE357 model and renaming it to that. It might be possible that it was actually an early model for the DE 357.
- PSG1 gun data file. It was probably meant to be usable by the player considering it has a very high damage, which are absent in enemies' guns data.
Fake name explanations[]
- The A2 Para seems to be a mix between the AUG A2 and the AUG Para. However, it resembles the AUG A2.
- The "9" in the AS9 refers to its caliber, 9mm (or 9x39mm to be exact).
- FA-V3: FAMAS, and V3 seems to be a parody of G2 (2+1=3). "V" is just a random letter to cover up the "G". I guess it's because naming it FA-G3 would be funny since it somewhat becomes "f--". Also, G3 is a real gun so it might be to prevent confusions as well.
- The M on M36c seems to be inspired by US military naming conventions, e.g. M4A1, M16A2, and M14.
- The game assumes that XM8 is a finished, contracted weapon and not a prototype (M8), since "XM" designation means its a "prototype" gun while "M" designation means "contracted" gun.
- I guess they just ran out of idea while trying to make a fake name of M4 and just named it SR-4 instead, which doesn't even have any actual explanations behind it.
- The "T" in T-97 seems to be a reference to "Type", since Norinco usually uses the Type designation for their guns.
- 90TR is just P90 TR, sans the "P" and the space between the zero and T.
- PP-M1 is PP-90M1 sans the "90".
- SP M4 means Spectre M4.
- TM 41 is TMP. The number 41 is just a purely made-up number.
- UM9 is a mix between UMP9 and its caliber, 9mm. It doesn't use the regular .45 cal here.
- Same for Uz9. A portmanteau between Uzi and its caliber, 9mm.
- M249SPW is M249 SAW. They just took out the space and replaced the A with P.
- M73E is HK23E. As with some other guns, the "M" seems to be inspired by the military naming convention and the number 7 is just a completely made-up number.
- U100MK3 is Ultimax 100 Mark 3.
- GL69A: "GL" refers to its type, a grenade launcher. It also fits because they're two letters, just like "HK". And instead of naming it "GL69A1" they took out the 1 to cover the gun name even more.
- They only took away the "A" in WA2000.
- 5-7 refers to its actual gun name, Five-seveN, in numbers instead of letters.
- DE 357 is Desert Eagle, and its caliber, .357.
- G19 Compact is Glock 19 (as always, they only took out some additional letters on it), and Compact is just purely made-up.
- I guess they just ran out of idea on MEU(SOC)45. They just added 45 on it to make it a fake gun name.
- U40: U is for USP, and 40 refers to its caliber, .40. The actual .40 version of the USP has 13 rounds per mag too just like in this game, further explaining it.
Advices[]
- Use MP5SD6 instead of suppressed MP5/10 if you need a suppressed SMG, since it has a better damage (8-10 instead of 7-9) and accuracy (2/40 instead of 2/50). Also, with the MP5SD6, you can equip another attachment such as the aiming sights and high capacity magazine (which is impossible to do in MP5/10 since the suppressor is selected for the attachment).
- In fact, you should only stick with the MP5SD6 at all times when choosing for SMG, since its stats are very balanced. Its lack of 3-round burst isn't a problem since its rate of fire is easily manageable.
- For assault rifles, it's always better to pick the AS9 at all times since it has an integrated suppressor, decent damage, and great accuracy. You can even pick a sight or high capacity mag with it.
- If you want an ammo-efficient assault rifle, pick either the A2 Para or the T-97, since both of them has 650 rpm, the lowest of all assault rifles, and have the exact same stats.
- Avoid using M8 Compact and MTAR-21, since they have higher recoil than any other assault rifles (despite the latter claiming that it has medium recoil).
- If you want the shotgun breach option available, even when your teammates don't carry a shotgun for the primary weapon, use either the MG 7 or Shorty 500, as they're secondary weapons and the teammates won't use a secondary weapon anyway in any other conditions but this.
- Avoid using machine pistols for your secondary weapon, as all of them have very poor accuracy, and none of them can be suppressed.
- If you need a really quick ammo disposal, use the AN-94. Its 1200 rpm rate of fire is the highest among all guns, combined with the high damage of it, allowing you to mow down multiple enemies in close quarters. Be careful though, as its insanely high rate of fire will force you to reload tons of times. Even worse, it doesn't support the high capacity magazine attachment!
- Avoid using heavy machine guns, since they tend to have poor accuracy. Using the AS9 with high capacity magazine is a better idea, but watch for the ammo counter, since it has around half as much ammo as machine guns.
- Use the 5-7 if you need a low power pistol at all times, since all of the pistols except for the DE 357 and MEU(SOC)45 have the exact same stats but their ammo capacity. The 5-7 has the most rounds per mag (20), and pairing it with a high capacity magazine raises it to 40 which is enough to keep you from reloading too frequently.
- For the stronger pistol, both DE 357 and MEU(SOC)45 are preferable, depending on the situation
- The DE 357 is more powerful and has more rounds per clip than the MEU(SOC)45, but has a much higher recoil, which makes it uncomfortable for longer-range shooting, thus suited for close quarters. The MEU(SOC)45 is more preferable for mid-range shooting.

Trivia[]
- Interestingly, the A2 Para has a low rate of fire, despite its sound effect implying otherwise. This is inverted in AN-94, since it has a very high rate of fire, despite sounding like a gun with a low rate of fire.
- In fact, the AN-94 has the fastest rate of fire among all weapons.
- According to the game's files, the A2 Para uses 5.56mm NATO. The "Para" name on it implies that it should be 9mm Parabellum instead, but it's closer to an actual AUG A2, judging by the caliber and the fact that AUG A2 Para never existed.
- If the player hacks the weapon items and uses the PSG1 or RPG-7, the gun displayed on the first-person view will be an MP5/10.
- In the PS2 version of the game, the player was allowed to use the stun grenade. However, it is unknown why the developers decided to make them enemy-only weapon. The possible reason is that it's redundant, since there's already a flashbang grenade.
- 9A-91, AN-94, MTAR-21, SA58, MP5/10, MP5SD6, MP7, M60E4, and M9 are the only weapons that don't use fake names (excluding the enemy-only weapons since they weren't supposed to be usable by the player).
- Despite being integrally suppressed, the AS9 releases muzzle flash when shooting. This is probably an oversight.
- The AS9 claims to have a medium accuracy, despite having 1-30 accuracy stat, which is very high; even higher than any suppressed assault rifles.
- This is possibly a leftover from the PS2 version of the game, which states that its accuracy is high. While it appears to be "nerfed" in this version by claiming that it has a medium accuracy, it actually isn't, since the actual accuracy stat is still very high. This is possibly a developer's oversight.
- The claimed stat can be fixed by setting the UIData accuracy value in the AS9.gun file to 2.
- It appears that the MP5SD6 used to have the 3-round burst firing mode in the beta, similar to the MP5SD3 in Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. This is proven by the gun preview image in the weapon selection screen, where it has an additional 3-round burst selector on it. Also, the MP5SD6 hung on the wall in the training shooting range shows the 3-round burst mode as well. However, in the first person model of it, the three round burst mode on the gun's model is missing, probably edited by the designers since some people who know guns might spot it. The 3-round burst sound effect is missing in the weapons.fsb sound bank file as well, possibly to save space and to remove any traces of it being available in the beta. It is unknown why it was removed, but it might have been done for nerfing purposes.
- In real-life, it indeed has the 3-round burst mode. The removal of it makes the gun somewhat unrealistic in-game.
- It is possible to partially restore the 3-round burst mode by modifying the MP5SD6.gun file, enabling the "burst" option, and making the MP5/10's burst fire sound offset for the sound effect.
- It might be possible to use the burst fire sound from Raven Shield's MP5SD3 by putting the sound into the FSB file using FMOD Designer, since the sound of the single and full-auto of it are the exact same ones. Unfortunately, the offset of all of the weapons' sounds will change, requiring you to readjust the startSound of every single guns.
- For some reason, the player isn't allowed to set the Uz9 in 3-round burst mode, while the enemy can use it. This is probably either another developer's oversight, or it was intentionally removed for nerfing purposes (which sounds impossible, since the weapon is weak already).
- This can be fixed by setting the burst mode to 1 and make the start sound offset to 5898535 for the default, red dot, and scope versions. However, there's no sound file for the suppressed 3-round burst, so it can't be done on the suppressed one.
- Attaching the supressor on M9 or MP7 makes them look like the one on the console version.
- In the game's files, there are some third-person models for the OICW. However, the gun itself is absent in this game and there's no first-person model of it. The OICW is usable by the player in the GameCube version of the game.
- There's also models for the SR-4 CQB (the one with the shotgun) and its first-person models. However, when you try to make a gun file for it, and if you use it, the first person model will be a silhouette of the gun.
- It could be possible that the PSG1 was usable in the beta, since it has 12 damage for the PSG1.gun (instead of the enemies' version of it (e_PSG1.gun) which only has 2-4 damage), but since the W2000 looks more futuristic, they could've dropped it for that reason.
- The red dot and scoped version of the SPS 12 has a glitched reload sound, where the pumping sound of it doesn't play. It plays correctly without attachments. This happens because the reloadSoundEnd data for the red dot and scoped versions of it is set to -1 instead of 5898553. It might be possible it didn't need to be pumped if it's empty in the beta. To fix it, replace -1 with 5898553.
- It appears that some of the models from the PS2 version aren't removed, but not fully functional, as most of them only shows silhouettes of the respective guns. The only existing gun from the PS2 version that shows its fully textured model is the M9 (with suppressor), but has low detail and is less reflective possibly due to PS2's hardware limitations. It also has a silver suppressor instead of the black one.
- It's possible to use the PS2 version of the suppressed M9 instead of the PC one. Create a copy of m9.gun, name it 92fs.gun, on the Common section of the gun, change the name section to WPN_92FS to differ it from the original M9. On the Suppressor section of the gun, change it to fpw_92fs.chr and save. In the game, select the "!find key [WPN_92FS]" as the secondary weapon, and select the suppressor attachment.
- I've made a string that fixes the fake names so that they're replaced with the real ones. Here it is . Replace the file in /shell/english/strings.txt
- It also adds missing strings such as the stun grenade (description not ready yet), PSG1, and RPG-7 strings.
- It might be possible that the guns used real gun names in the beta, judging by the PS2 model leftovers' filenames. However, to possibly avoid copyright issues (which doesn't actually exist in gun names), they decided to rename them to fake ones.
